Luxury Surfaces

A renovation project throws up a thousand possibilities and decisions to make. We sometimes find working from the ground up can be a good place to start. Here’s why.

As soon as you step into a room, you notice the feel, sound, and look of a floor – whether its subconscious or not. Is it carpet, wood, or a tile? Does it make the room inviting?

Tiles can be found in a huge range of finishes and styles. For example, wood effects, natural stone, polished porcelain and marble look to name just a few. We’re going to share some of our favourite tile styles with you, and how they can elevate your renovation project. Firstly, one of our favourites, a range of marble effect tiles by Marazzi.

Marbleous.

A timeless staple used by the Ancient Greeks & romans over 2000 years ago, marble continues to adorn the worlds most luxurious interiors. For example, in the renowned Hotel Café Royal who’s bathrooms are made entirely of Carrara marble cut from Tuscan quarries. Its a staple for anyone wanting to achieve elegant kitchen & bathrooms in any type of property.

Marazzi have developed a series of marble look porcelain tiles where they have combined subtle designs together with some bold, striking colours & textures.  One of our absolute favourites is the Saint Laurent (below middle) with its rich almost black background, sharp neutral veining & earthy almost rust like hues. Just imagine that with some brass taps & shower set..

Wood effect.

Would you believe its not, well, wood? The warmth and softness of a real wood floor is of course a beautiful thing, but its not always the practical option especially when you start to consider children & pets. Here, Marazzi offer you the look of wood, but with the easy clean stain proof benefits of a tile.

A tile offers you limitless colours, textures, and even formats. For example, the System U collection combines a contemporary sleek texture with a verstaile grey to stone colour palette. Comparatively the Treverksoul series comprises natural wood tones in a chevron design that wouldn’t look out of place in the chicest london apartment.
